A Bird City is a community that has been recognized for its efforts to:

- Reduce threats to birds
- Educate and engage people with birds
- Promote sustainability
Bird City Westminster’s goal is to help people enjoy and protect birds in our community, making our city healthier for birds and people! The City of Westminster worked with Bird City Maryland to choose 10 action steps to protect birds.

Voting took place and the winner has been decided:
Eastern Bluebird
- Brilliant blue with rusty chest and sides and white belly
- Females and younger birds are gray with blue patches
- Low pitched, short warbling song
- Eats insects and berries, mealworms at feeders
- Perches on branches and posts, swoops down to get insects- Nests in natural tree cavities or man-made boxes
- Nest boxes helped bluebirds rebound after threats from aggressive birds, habitat loss and pesticides.
- Lives in eastern North America, south to Nicaragua
